La Jolla Spa Retreat

The Vision:

The client sought to transform an outdated, compartmentalized master bathroom into an open, airy sanctuary that rivaled a five-star spa. The primary goal was to maximize natural light while maintaining complete privacy, utilizing a palette of natural stone, warm wood tones, and minimalist hardware to create a timeless aesthetic.

The Transformation:

• Integrated a full Schluter-Kerdi waterproofing system for a lifetime guarantee
• Engineered a seamless curbless transition with a linear drain for a modern, accessible layout
• Installed large-format porcelain slabs to minimize grout lines and ease maintenance
• Added custom layered lighting including toe-kick LEDs and side-lit vanity mirrors
• Installed a high-efficiency steam shower system with integrated chromotherapy
• Custom-built floating white oak vanity to create the illusion of more space

The Outcome:

The resulting space is a testament to technical excellence and design clarity. By removing structural barriers and optimizing the layout, the room feels significantly larger and more cohesive. Every detail, from the precise mitered edges of the stone to the perfectly calibrated water pressure of the multi-head shower system, was executed to provide the ultimate wellness experience at home.
